Round One to the 'Stangs

The first Thirsty Thursday of the year couldn't get here fast enough. The skies looked ominous, but the crew hopped on the bicycles anyway and headed down to big Centene Stadium. The rains came for a while and delayed the start of the game by an hour. After convincing the concessionaires that beers really were a dollar, the rain delay actually worked to our advantage. It just meant that much longer until the 4th inning (and the end of the beer special). It also meant starting the game a little more intoxicated than usual.

Good ol' Rick Burleson was back managing the Billings Mustangs, and he got an earful from us right off the bat. But the victim of the night was their 3rd baseman, Yoni Lasso (above). After an early error, we continued to berate him. But to his credit, he came up with all the plays after that. These teams played the game like they had to catch the early show at the Sip n' Dip, and after a little more than 2 hours, the Sox went down 2-0.

Pitching coach Curt Hasler was intrigued by the club (and our brand new uniforms). We promised to get him a jersey in exchange for some baseballs. And Tyson Corley's going to hear it next game for telling me his teammate Mike Grace's name was Chris. Either that country bumpkin is retarded or he lied to me.

The next Thirsty Thursday is July 13th, but due to the holiday weekend, we may pull off a "Thirsty Monday." Check back soon.
